Australia. Raw Orange The Mk I Capri was built in the UK from 1969-74, it got ‘Pony Car’ styling; long hood, short deck, like the US Mustang. In the UK it was the 1300 and 1600cc 4 cyl Kent, or the UK Essex 2000 GT V4, Essex 3000 GT V6 and luxury 3000E V6 (vinyl roof) The 1972 facelift saw larger rectangular headlights and taillights, bulge in bonnet to accommodate new OHC Pinto engines (replacing OHV Kent), the upmarket 3000E, now the 3000 GXL with quad round headlights. The race ready RS2600 was introduced (RS3100 in 1973) . The German built cars got their V4 engines; 1300cc, 1500, 1700 and the 2300GT The pre facelift was also built in Australia from 1969-72.
