Olga Mary (nee Papageorge) Ellison Olga Ellison passed away peacefully July, 16, 2018 at her home in Troy from complications due to Alzheimers. She was 91. Beloved wife of the late Leo Ellison for 61 years. Loving mother of Bill Ellison and Kathy Barnas (David). Proud yia-yia of Callie and Nikki Barnas. Dear sister-in-law of Christine Kosmos (the late Gregg). Loving aunt of Tom Ellison (Mary), Andrea Kosmos, Paul Kosmos and Helen Clarren (Steve). Preceded in death by her sister Alice Ellison (the late John). Olga was born January 25th, 1927 to Fotini and Bill Papageorge in Buffalo, NY. She worked at her father Bills Soda Fountain/Candy Store through her high school years. She was first chair violinist at Gowanda High School where she graduated from at the age of 16. She was a graduate of Jamestown Business College in New York and started taking shorthand in the operating rooms at a local hospital before moving to Detroit. Olga was a homemaker in her childrens formative years and then later worked as a legal secretary for Dennis "Ned" Darin. Olga enjoyed gardening and decorating the house for the holidays. She will be remembered for her fabulous Greek cooking, her signature ice cream parfaits and banana splits, her love of cats and for the love of her family, friends and granddaughters. The family would like to thank her care giver Doris Harvey Venable and Beaumont Hospice for the loving care they gave to Olga for the last 4 months of her life. In lieu of flowers donations can be to St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Beaumont Hospice and Alzheimers Association of Michigan. Funeral Service Friday 11am at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 43816 Woodward, Bloomfield Hills. Visitation begins at church 10:30am Family will receive friends Thursday 4-8pm with a Trisagion at 5:30pm at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward (btwn 13-14 Mile), 248-549-0500. Burial at White Chapel Cemetery.Funeral Home:A.J.
